Sub genres:

A subgenre is a subordinate within a genre. Two stories being the same genre can still sometimes differ in subgenre.

For example, if a fantasy story has darker and more frightening elements of fantasy, it would belong in the subgenre of dark fantasy; wheras another fantasy story that features magic swords and wizards would belong to the subgenre of sword and sorcery.

Hybrids:

A hybrid is when two or more genres combine to make one genre within one film. these hybrids are very common within most films today because you have Action and Adventure films always released also with Romantic Comedy films.

Group Roles

I chose to be part of a group because I have not got any previous knowledge of Media Studies and the other member have got plenty of experience in this industry so I felt that by working with them (Josh Brough and George Mellor) it would help me learn and get a better understanding of this subject. By choosing to work as part of a group for this task I felt it would give me the knowledge and know how to go alone for my A2 product. Not only would i learn being part of a group i was also allowed to do stuff on my own as for some stuff i will be showed how to do it and then a go and do it myself so although i will be part of a group i would also be able to self in diligent when creating some aspects of the task i which we will be doing.

Response To Task

I feel very confident in doing this task. Because the genre we have been tasked with (Thriller) is one of my favourite genres when watching a film. So with the knowledge I have on this genre of films and the help of 2 previous media students i feel very confident in doing this task and creating an opening sequence of a Thriller film.
